Sri Lanka - what an amazing island
We created this blog to share our wonderful experience from visiting Sri Lanka and traveling around this beautiful island. We were able to experience great hospitality of local people, taste delicious food, lay on beautiful beaches, see diverse wildlife animals and walk through breathtaking nature.
Our travel itinerary
We arrived to Sri Lanka 3rd of September and left Sri Lanka 24th of September having exactly 3 weeks to explore this wonderful island.

How we had travelled
We had been travelling mainly by local buses. It is easy, very cheap and fun. We took train only from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya and from Galle to Colombo. Trains are also easy to go with, cheap and fun.
Where we stayed
We had been staying in Guest houses - usually house owned by local family which is living in that house as well. The rooms are clean and have its own bathroom (hotel standard rooms). The great thing is that you can order food (dinner) from the family and they cook it fresh for you in their kitchen. This way you are able to taste local cousine.
